Cliffhanger Design LLC — Payment Policy

Payment Terms

Project-Based Work (Websites)

All website and one-time project work is billed on a split-payment schedule:

  • 50% due at project kickoff — before any work begins
  • 50% due upon project delivery — before the site goes live or files are transferred

Work will not commence until the initial deposit is received. Final deliverables will not be transferred or published until the remaining balance is paid in full.

Monthly Retainers & Automation Services

Recurring services (SMS automation, email campaigns, AI voice agents, website care) are billed monthly in advance:

  • Invoices are sent on the 25th of each month for the following month
  • Payment is due by the 1st of the service month
  • Services are auto-charged via Stripe on the billing date unless otherwise arranged
  • A minimum retainer commitment of 3 months applies to all recurring services

Accepted Payment Methods

We accept all major credit and debit cards, ACH bank transfers, and wire transfers — all processed securely through Stripe. We do not accept cash, checks, or cryptocurrency.

Late Payments

Important: Work pauses automatically after 10 days of non-payment. Services (including hosting, automation, and voice agents) may be suspended until the outstanding balance is settled.

We understand things happen. If you anticipate a late payment, contact us before the due date and we'll work with you. Unannounced late payments may incur a 5% late fee on the outstanding balance.

Refunds & Cancellations

Project Work

The initial 50% deposit is non-refundable once work has begun, as it covers time already invested in discovery, design, and planning. If a project is cancelled before work begins, a full refund of the deposit will be issued.

Retainer Services

Monthly retainers require 30 days written notice to cancel. You will not be charged for the month following your cancellation notice. No refunds are issued for the current billing month.

Upon cancellation, all automated workflows will be deactivated. Website hosting will remain active for 30 days post-cancellation to allow time for migration.

Disputes

We stand behind our work. If you're unsatisfied, contact us at hello@cliffhangerdesign.com and we will make it right. Chargebacks initiated without first attempting resolution through us will result in immediate service termination and may be disputed.

Intellectual Property

Upon receipt of final payment, clients receive full ownership of all custom website files, copy, and designs created specifically for their project.

Cliffhanger Design retains the right to display completed work in our portfolio unless the client requests otherwise in writing.

Third-party tools, platforms, and software (Bland.ai, Twilio, SendGrid, etc.) remain subject to their respective terms of service and are licensed, not owned.

Overview

Cliffhanger Design LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates cliffhangerdesign.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it. We keep this simple — we collect only what we need, we don't sell your data, ever.

  • Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details)

  • IP address and browser type for security purposes
  • Cookies necessary for site functionality

Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not use third-party advertising trackers (no Facebook Pixel, Google Ads tracking, etc.)
  • We do not collect sensitive personal information (SSN, date of birth, etc.)

How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to your inquiries and deliver our services
  • To process payments and send invoices
  • To send project updates and service communications
  • To improve our website and services
  • To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party platforms to deliver our services. Each has their own privacy policy:

Data Retention

We retain client data for as long as the business relationship is active plus 3 years for accounting and legal purposes. Contact form submissions from non-clients are deleted after 12 months if no project is initiated.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@cliffhangerdesign.com. Note that we may retain data required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., invoices).

Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies — only those necessary for basic site functionality. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to use the site.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of any marketing communications at any time

Security

We take data security seriously. Our site runs on Cloudflare (enterprise-grade DDoS protection and SSL). Payments are handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI DSS compliant). We never store payment card data on our servers.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We maintain commercially reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
